HAEVN veröffentlichen neue EP „Holy Ground“

Am 24.06.2022 erschien die neue EP der niederländischen Band HAEVN. „Holy Ground“ folgt auf das mit Platin ausgezeichnete Debüt-Album „Eyes Closed“, für das das Duo (Marijn van der Meer & Jorrit Kleijnen) 2018 zwei Edison Awards („Best Album“ und „Best Pop“) gewonnen hat.

HAEVN:
“We wrote the first tracks of this EP in 2019 during a very hot summer on the Swedish island of Gotland.
We wrote at night, with crickets and the sun that never fully set because of its location.
It was such a brooding atmosphere. That directed us to make a really sultry record with music that we now put on ourselves when the sun is down’‘.

Geschrieben wurde in Schweden, gemischt in New York – und zwar von niemand geringerem als Joe Visciano, der in der Vergangenheit bereits
mit u.a. Adele, Kendrick Lamar, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay und Mark Ronson zusammenarbeitete.
Die Songs der EP klingen entspannter und wärmer, als man es bisher von HAEVN kannte.
“We are often told that we are better live than on the record. This was also frustrating at times.
That’s why we spent even more time recording everything analog. Looking for the best hammond, the best orchestra and so on.

Ein Song, der ganz besonders hervorsticht, ist die Single „Kite In A Hurricane“.
“The song is about the storm in which you can find yourself in a relationship when you are losing each other. Only by staying close together can you survive the storm and come out stronger.“

„Kite In A Hurricane“ wurde einst nach einem Soundcheck im Amsterdamer Paradiso geschrieben, es sollte aber weitere fünf Jahre dauern, bis der Song nun fertig gestellt wurde.
Produziert wurde „KIAH“ von dem 24-jährigen Produzenten Filous, den Jorrit und Marijn als „old music soul in a young body“ bezeichnen.
„Kite In A Hurricane“ klingt wunderbar nach Filous’ musikalischen Einflüssen, nach Fleetwood Mac, Sting oder den Simple Minds.
